This role is a member of the AP synthesis development team. He/She is expected to provide updates, findings and insights based on the understanding of thermoplastic polyurethane processing and application performance through academic study like paper research, etc. He/She is also expected to provide other support like DOE working for innovative technology/new product development to meet key application challenges and market trends.
Responsibilities:
· Participate in molecules synthesis to ensure new concept validation project on track.
· Build versatile chemistry by scientific literature or patent review, learn state of the art of new polyester/polyurethane molecules and material.
· Proactively communicate with team leader on project progress and timely address potential gaps and barriers.
· Regularly make presentation within R&D to sharing key findings and own understanding in development work.
· Documentation of new findings, especially technology for patentability discussion.
· Upgrade lab synthesis/analysis facilities based on project needs.
Requirements:
· Solid knowledge of chemistry (polymer related majors are preferred);
· Bachelor degree and above (Master and Ph.D degrees are preferred);
· Can work at least 2 days per week for internship work at Songjiang lab;
· Basic principle of analytic methods for data analysis (such as, FTIR, DSC, GPC, Rheometer. etc.).
· Hands-on experience in polyester/polyamide synthesis will be a plus;
· Be passionate in design polymer molecules;
· A good team player.
