1. Position Overview
The EGDS department is seeking a motivated Statistics Intern to support two high-impact research initiatives within our disease areas. The intern will contribute to cutting-edge work at the intersection of clinical trial methodology, regulatory strategy, and AI-based diagnostics.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in drug development, regulatory science, and biostatistics within a global pharmaceutical environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
Conduct structured and comprehensive literature reviews on clinical, regulatory, and methodological topics
Compile comparative assessments and research summaries to support internal decision-making and project deliverables
Utilize statistical software (SAS, R, and/or Python) to perform data analysis, generate outputs, and support programming tasks
Assist in developing or reviewing analysis scripts and code for reproducibility and accuracy
Assist in evaluating and comparing clinical trial designs, patient populations, and endpoint strategies across therapeutic programs
3. Qualifications
Education
Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related field
Required Knowledge & Skills
Solid understanding of clinical trial methodology and statistical principles (hypothesis testing, regression, survival analysis, etc.)
Familiarity with estimand frameworks and regulatory statistical standards
Strong scientific literature reading and synthesis skills; ability to produce clear, structured technical summaries
Proficiency in at least one statistical or data analysis tool: SAS, R, or Python
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Detail-oriented, self-driven, and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
