Interior Engineering Team at Tesla is responsible to design and engineer all interior components inside the Interior Cabin.
We are sub divided into 11 internal groups all supporting each other concurrently to execute Tesla Interior Product development programs.
(1) Technical Program Management
(2) Studio Engineering
(3) Overhead System
(4) Hard trim System
(5) Soft trim System
(6) Instrument Panel System
(7) Centre Console System
(8) Door trim System
Core Responsibilities:
• Design and Engineer subcomponents for all interior commodities • Achieve customer-driven interior system targets for luxury, function, cost and weight • Execute local changes, initiated by the Global Interiors team, of parts and systems according to Tesla Change Management process.
• Implement processes and quality to achieve world class execution of automotive interior craftsmanship and fit & finish.
• Support the global team in design optimization with the appropriate analytical and physical assessments.
• You will be required to prototype parts using 3d printing, put assemblies together in our prototype lab and work on modifying production parts with product changes if needed for testing and evaluation purposes.
• You will collaborate with key suppliers and to support overall vehicle launch milestones and prototype/production build events
• Your will collaborate with cross functional teams within the Tesla Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups to ensure interior system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability, and ensure competitive supplier manufacturing, quality and pricing.
• Ability to do Freebody diagrams and doing first principles-based hand calculations is a must.
• Knowledge of CATIA, Solid works or other CAD tools is preferred.
• Excellent written communication skills and Oral Fluency in English
