Mission:
Aden / Akila is looking for an intern to help build an AI-powered insights engine for global Facility Management (FM) clients. The goal of this project is to go beyond basic KPIs and deliver deeper, automated analysis and operational insights for site managers, area managers, and HQ teams.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Understand Operations & Data
• Interview site-level, regional, and HQ experts to identify operational pain points
• Analyze existing datasets, including work orders, maintenance logs, client requests, operator comments, and sensor data (temperature, energy consumption, vibration, etc.)
2. Perform Analysis
• Exploratory data analysis
• Develop tools for text classification, clustering, and summarization
• Design LLM prompts or RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) workflows to generate insights and recommendations
• Identify correlations and patterns (e.g. recurring issues, high-failure sites, root-cause analysis)
3. Deploy MVP for Single Customer
• Build prototypes (Python scripts, APIs, or simple workflows)
• Generate automated reports, dashboards (Power BI integration is a plus) and chatbots
• Iteratively validate tool outputs together with operational teams
• Prepare for integration with the Akila product team
Requirements:
• Undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled
• Strong spoken and listening skills in both English and Chinese, able to use English fluently as a working language
• Major in engineering, with technical hands-on experience
• Strong interest in applying AI to operations or industrial scenarios; candidates with hands-on experience; deep understanding of ontology are a plus
• Prior experience using AI-assisted programming tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Dify or similar tools is a plus
• Background or understanding of facility management or maintenance is a plus
• Strong learning ability and self-motivation; able to work independently and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
