Perform general lab duties, designs and conducts experiments to support the Microbiology research team.

Collect and analyse data, keeps an accurate record of all work done in accordance with the quality system.

May participate projects involving bacteria culturing and DNA extraction, bacterial molecular-based subtyping, whole genome sequencing with next generation sequencing technologies, and/or pathogen identification/detection method evaluation.

Undergraduate (have completed junior year) or graduate student majored in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science or similar discipline. A graduate student is preferred.

A minimum of 1 year applied research experience in microbiology or biotechnology is required.

Ability to perform bacteria isolation, DNA extraction from pure culture, PCR, RT-PCR, whole genome sequencing, and/or bioinformatics data analysis is preferred.

Fluent in English communication, strong skills in both reading and writing.
