Sensor Fusion for Autonomous Vehicle & Robot Localization, Environment Mapping
We are looking for an intern in indoor localization
Job Responsibility
• Design and implement algorithms for intelligent car & robot localization ( indoor localization and mapping via sensor fusion (visual SLAM, IMU, dead reckoning, etc.)
• Create meaningful environment models and reconstructions from 2-D/3-D sensor data
• Integrate algorithms into existing robotics / vehicle platform and perform real-world testing
• Review project requirements, survey available technologies, and check feasibility regarding requirements and resources
• Fulfill the project goals timely and with quality
• Document processes and results during development, especially for the key milestones
• Work pro-actively within team to feedback processes and problems timely, and to discuss and find solutions
Knowledge competencies and attributes
Required:
• Major in computer science, software engineering, robotics, AI, electronic engineering, or other relevant technical background
• Solid knowledge in sensor data (e.g. images, pointclouds) or other digital signal processing
• Good C/C++ and/or Python programming skills
• Good communication skills to work in an international team
• Proficient in oral and written English and/or German
• A quick learner who is self-driven and detail-oriented
• Can work at least 3 days/week, and continue 3-6 months
Preferred, but not required:
· Experience with RGB and/or 3D cameras or other automotive sensors (e.g. Lidar, radar)
· Experience with robotics or automotive system development
· Experience with SLAM or sensor fusion
· Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System)
