The Role
Tesla’s Chassis Controls team is seeking a Software Integration Intern to join our team of systems experts. In this role, you will assist in the design, implementation, and validation of new chassis control software features (e.g., autonomous driving/braking), ensuring they meet Tesla’s high standards for safety and customer experience.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with design and development engineers to understand system requirements, interfaces, and interactions for specific vehicle functions.
Assist in developing validation strategies and work with validation teams to ensure test coverage and traceability.
Work cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, system architecture, firmware development, and validation teams to understand component-level hardware changes and support firmware integration for manufacturing and customer use.
Requirements
Must Have
Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Vehicle Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in Chinese and English (speaking and listening): Sufficient to participate in technical discussions and meetings.
Strong foundational knowledge in software development and systems engineering concepts.
Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively across parallel projects.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to peers and mentors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and derive technical insights.
Note: A valid driver's license is highly preferred for potential in-vehicle testing opportunities, though testing may also be performed under supervision.
