With high penetration of inverter-based resources in the grid network, the global utilities are facing similar technical and regulatory challenges to ensure a stable, reliable and resilient power grid. EDF R&D has three centres in France and six abroad to capture world energy sectors innovations and collaboratively perform applied research to tackle some of those world toughest energy challenges.
YOUR MISSION
You are expected to be guided under a Senior Grid Engineer and work closely with EDF France colleagues as well as local partners to support a broad range of Power System Research and Development on topics such as resilient distribution network, renewable energy and energy storage integration, HVDC technologies.
As a Global Analytical Track Intern, your activities may include the following scopes:
•Analyze the Chinese grid codes and renewable integration challenges to make synergizes with European practices and situations.
•Deep dives in selected technical fields (i.e., Electric-vehicle grid integration, electric metering infrastructures).
•Excel tools developments for HVDC projects budgeting.
•Benchmark for vendors technologies & products offerings (i.e., MMC-HVDC).
REQUIRED SKILLS
•University students in engineering (ideally Electrical Engineering focusing on Electric Power System) and/or (interested in) energy domains.
•Preferrable with power system knowledge, good analytical skills for literature research and generating insights.
•Professional, independent, positive attitudes with self-motivations and team spirit to work in a multicultural environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Fluent English both written and spoken; Chinese, mother tongue; French is a plus.
