[4-6 months, 4-5 days/week] Name of Project: Engine & Battery RD Project Support Objectives: - As an integral part of the Mercedes-Benz global R&D network, steers a broad range of projects both for China and global market, ensuring that the development of our batteries is completed in time and in line with the high quality standards that our brand stands for. - The Design & Mechanics team work scope focuses on the mechanical area of the MB Drive Systems - Engine & battery localization projects, the collaboration with the MB-Joint Venture partner BBAC, field support for Chinese customers and global battery development projects are some of the ongoing projects at GRC/RDEB - the GRC/RDEB-project landscape includes partners all over the world - At the new MB Tech Center China in Beijing, local validations on dyno's are planned & performed and organized in by GRC/RDEB in order to safe guard the function of the aggregates Main Tasks: - Support to the series project leads in preventing and solving potential technical issues as well as in managing technical changes of engines and HV batteries - Support engine & battery disassembly process - Support engine & battery analyses and risk assessments - Support validation planning - Support preparation, organization and moderation of project meetings Key Learning Opportunities: - Deep dives in engine & battery failure analyses - Methods and tools for analysis and resolution of technical issues - Project management skills - Teamwork in complex project structures with multiple stakeholders across different locations all over the world - Intercultural competences Key Qualifications: - General engineering knowledge, incl. basics in electrics, mechanics and software - Knowledge or practical experience in the area of Engine/HV Battery - Proactive and curious mindset - Proficient in MS Office applications incl. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook - Data analysis skills - German is a plus
