Name of Project: 'Starflare Intern Project' Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design
Digital Design Internship
Objectives:
The intern will be involved in advanced automotive design projects under the
Mercedes-Benz brand, focusing on the early-stage development of exterior and
interior design concepts. This project plays a strategic role in visualizing
and communicating future mobility visions through cutting-edge digital design
tools. The intern will contribute to shaping the aesthetic direction and
digital storytelling of future concept vehicles, supporting both the creative
and technical needs of the design team.
Main Tasks:
The intern will work closely with experienced digital modelers and designers
to support the execution of early design concepts. Responsibilities include:
- Creating 3D design models using Alias, Blender, or Maya
- Rendering high-quality visuals in VRED and Unreal Engine for internal
presentations and design reviews
- Supporting parametric and procedural design workflows (e.g., Grasshopper,
Houdini)
- Assisting in cinematic and visual effects production using video
post-production tools (e.g., After Effects, DaVinci Resolve)
- Daily collaboration with designers and cross-functional teams to iterate and
refine concept designs
This internship offers hands-on experience in a high-paced, international
design studio and exposure to the full digital pipeline of automotive design
execution.
Key Qualifications:
- Strong foundational knowledge in automotive or industrial design, digital
modeling, or visualization
- Proficiency in at least one major 3D software tool
- Familiarity with basic rendering techniques and digital visualization
- Good sense of form, proportion, and design aesthetics
- Able to work in an organized, detail-oriented manner with strong ownership
of tasks
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating in English, both written and
spoken
- A strong design portfolio that demonstrates creativity, originality, and
technical execution
