【Job description】
1. Systematic Literature Research & Knowledge Mapping
Conduct exhaustive literature, patent, and regulatory database searches (e.g., PubMed, SciFinder, Web of Science, Google Scholar) regarding the impact of diverse cosmetic ingredients (surfactants, polyols, chelating agents, lipids, pH adjusters, etc.) on formulation preservation and microbial stability.
Screen, evaluate, and catalog high-quality scientific papers to build a structured literature library.
2. Data Synthesis & Impact Factor Analysis
- Identify and categorize key raw material variables and physicochemical parameters affecting formula preservation.
- Assess and determine the qualitative/quantitative impact size of specific ingredient variations (e.g., concentration, carbon chain length, structural isomerism) and their synergistic effects on preservative efficacy.
- Draft a comprehensive research report summarizing the key findings in a clear, matrixed format.
3. Development of Scientific Extrapolation & Justification Logic
- Analyze compiled data to propose safe boundaries, scientific rules, and logical frameworks for extrapolating existing Preservation Efficacy Test (PET) results to new formula variations.
- Assist formulation scientists in drafting scientific rationale and justification templates to support the safety assessment of new formulas without redundant microbiological testing.
4. Reporting & Presentation
- Provide regular progress updates to the R&I mentors and team.
- Deliver a final comprehensive research report and present the key findings to the broader R&I department at the end of the internship.

2. Scientific & Research Skills:
- Exceptional scientific literature search, critical reading, and data extraction skills.
- Prior academic or practical exposure to cosmetic formulation structures, preservation systems, or microbiological challenge tests (PET) is highly preferred.
3. Analytical & Logical Thinking:
- Strong capability in logical reasoning, data synthesis, and critical thinking.
- Ability to extract core scientific principles and patterns from vast, fragmented, and sometimes conflicting data sources.
4. Language & Tools:
- Professional working proficiency in English (essential for reading international scientific literature, writing technical reports, and delivering presentations).
- Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and literature management software (EndNote, Mendeley, etc.).
5. Soft Skills:
- Rigorous, detail-oriented, and highly organized approach to research.
- Self-motivated with strong communication and team-player skills, capable of working independently under mentor guidance.
