Overall Description:
The Intern will work closely with the other team members in the Safeguarding and Inclusion Division to support schools in the area of child protection, social and emotional counselling and student support. The Intern will be mentored by the Head of Inclusion / Designated Safeguarding Lead for YCYW Schools, and will receive additional support from the Safeguarding and Inclusion Officer. The Intern will be expected to fully commit to the training provided, and will be expected to contribute to the work of our division in supporting schools, participating in safeguarding audits, helping with training and attending meetings with schools.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
• Initial undergraduate degree and currently enrolled as a master’s degree student
• Knowledge of current best practices in social-emotional learning, mental health, child protection and inclusive education
• Bilingual communication skills with native level Chinese and strong English language skills
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
• Demonstrate data analysis and research capabilities
• Willingness to participate in workshops and training sessions for various audiences, including students, educators, leaders and parents
• Experience with online training platforms, e-bulletins and professional networking related to safeguarding and inclusion
• Willing to regularly travel to schools within Mainland China
• Commitment to the holistic education of young people
