Education:                                            Bachelor (University of applied science) Communications (or equivalent)

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is looking for a Project & Communication Intern motivated to be part of a small global team to advance green freight and logistics worldwide. Our office is based in Beijing. 

 

About Smart Freight Centre

 

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) was established in 2013 as a global non-profit organization dedicated to an efficient and zero emissions freight sector – contributing to Paris Climate Agreement targets and Sustainable Development Goals. Our goal is that 100+ multinationals reduce at least 30%% of their logistics emissions by 2030 compared to 2015 and reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

 

 

We believe that increased transparency and collaboration will mobilize companies to reduce the climate and pollution impact arising from global freight transport. Our goal is that 100+ multinationals reduce at least 30%% of logistics emissions by 2030 compared to 2015 across their global logistics supply chains and decarbonize (reach zero emissions) by 2050.

 

SFC’s role is to provide multinationals and their logistics partners with clear standardized guidelines for mission reporting and reduction, advocate for their adoption together with partners, and recognize leaders.

 

We put this into practice through three programs:

 

§  Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC): global industry guidelines for calculation, reporting and reduction of logistics GHG emissions.

§  Smart Freight Shippers Alliances in China (SFSA) and potentially other growth markets: translating global corporate commitments to local action.

§  Smart Truck Fleet Management (STFM): enabling implementation of road freight transport solutions

Job Description 

 

The Communication Intern will work in a small, internationally oriented organization, where sparring and interaction with colleagues across the organization and SFC partners is key. The Communication Intern reports to the China Director and works in close collaboration with all SFC team members.

Responsibilities include:

§  Supporting with development of key SFC China communication and marketing tools

§  Assist in working with partners and SFSA member to deliver successful SFC products and publication launches.

§  Supporting SFC team with regular social media updates (including Latest News, wechats, linkedin, SFSA Projects page) 

§  Social media – supporting with developing social media content for campaigns around key SFC products

§  Keeping our CRM system up to date with all key marketing, communication, media contacts

 

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics: 

§  Fluent in English, experience of event management is a plus.

§  Flexible, able to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment.

§  Good interpersonal skills, able to work with different personality types.

§  Basic knowledge of sustainable transport and logistics 

§  Proficient in MS Office and CMS systems, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
