The
Paralegal will report directly to the partner and assist lawyers with a
variety of legal and supporting tasks, from preparation of first draft
documents, research and know-how development, to serving as the client
relationship contact point.
We
expect her/him to be driven, hungry for knowledge, pleasant to have around, and
capable of independently thinking.
Duties & Responsibilities
Drafting
prepare fee quote and engagement letter
prepare and update legal opinions and due
diligence reports
draft corporate authorisations and statutory
filing documents
prepare/review English and Chinese translation
Research and Know-how development
maintain and update our know-how library
perform legal research
conduct company search and court search and
review search results
Transaction
Management
assist with the transaction management, from
fee quote/engagement letter, to daily communication, and to closing and
invoicing
assist in the set up of various funds/corporate
vehicles and filing with governmental bodies
Administration & organization
provide support for the training of interns
conduct conflict search and review search
results
organize files and matters and assist with
WIP/AR management
liaise with credit controller, corporate
service/fiduciary and other support teams
Competencies Required
a Master’s degree in
law with excellent academic
performance
passed PRC bar and NY bar holder is preferred
confident in communicating/conversing in both English
and Chinese
a can-do attitude, able to work in a demanding professional environment
high levels of computer literacy and
competence
strong organisational and time management
skills, with the ability to work independently in a team
