As a part of efforts serving the Microsoft mission of “Empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more”, Microsoft has been proactively investing in OSS (Open Source Software) for past years, delivering both 1st party OSS products (.NET, VS Code IDE, TypeScript, etc.) and 3rd party integrations (Node, Docker, Jenkins, etc.) that have attracted millions of users. All of these efforts have made Microsoft one of the top OSS contributors in the world.

If you have passion to be a member of the Microsoft OSS strategy with being honored by the OSS community, Microsoft Visual Studio OSS team is the right place for you. The VS OSS team focuses on OSS development tools that are well acknowledged by developers around the world. These tools cover scenarios including but not limited at programing practice, cloud integration, and CICD (continuous integration and continuous deployment).

Responsibilities

You are going to work as a developer intern to participate in delivering features for OSS products. In this process you will work together with excellent Microsoft engineers, program managers as well as the open source communities. Within the internship period, you will get to learn the experience of becoming a polyglot developer.
