·         Work closely with breeding, product selection, quantitative breeding and marketing teams to collect an compile country level environmental data based on the template provided by Syngenta environmental data scientist

·         Data cleaning and management to fit for environmental data analysis purpose

·         Work on environmental data analysis initiatives by taking guidance from environmental data analysis scientist

Expect deliverables from this internship:

·         A complete data file with all required environmental data features

·         The data file should pass the quality control set by environmental data modelling team

·         The data file can be used directly for downstream environmental data analysis/modelling purpose

Qualifications: 

·         Students who are in their last year of study (Bachelor or Master degree) or pursuing an advanced degree in the following field of studies: Environmental data modelling, Big data analytics, Genetics, Mathematics, Statistics or another closely related field of study are highly preferred 

·         Programming experience required, Excel Macro or R/Python Programing skills preferred 

·         2 years of classes in data collection and management, statistics, data modeling and analytics

·         Fluent in English 

Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities: 

·         Qualification in data management and analysis or statistics

·         Sound analytical and problem solving

·         Studies in data driven problem solving and graphical analysis 

·         Ability to convey the right level of detail to the right audience verbally, in writing, or by presentations and ability to judge when and who to communicate key information 

·         A passion and enthusiasm for statistics in terms of converting data into useful information to drive business value 

·         Collaboration-The ability to work with individuals who come from diverse backgrounds 

·         Autonomous-An independent individual who is self-motivating and needs little supervision 

·         Detail/Accuracy Oriented-All procedures and policies must be understood and followed 

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access database)
