The eBay Search Science group is looking for a research intern to conduct research on cutting-edge natural language processing problems.

We are looking to work with self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals, who love to learn, build disruptive software, publish results, and contribute to open-source research community. In past, weve worked well with individuals who are familiar with deep learning, and passionate to gain a research experience tackling hard problems, irrespective of their engineering major. The focus of this ideally 6 month intern position will be on development and application of machine learning algorithms for natural language understanding with application in healthcare domain.

Responsibilities: 

• Conduct research and experiments to solve problems related to Natural Language Processing (NLP). 

• Implement prototypes to test new ideas and NLP algorithms. 

• Analyze and improve performance of existing NLP algorithms. 

• Present findings (written reports or oral presentations, as appropriate).

Required Skills: 

• Machine learning with experience in Deep learning / neural networks. 

• Natural Language Processing (NLP) 

• Strong Programming and debugging skills 

• Experience running accuracy experiments and systematically improving performance. 

• Good Communication skills (Written and Oral) 

• Enrolled student of a MSc or PhD Program
