Job Title: Research Associate Job Overview: IMD China is looking for an experienced research associate to improve IMD Business School’s reach and impact in China’s business world and from China to the world. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference by playing a crucial role in creating and disseminating thought leadership, driven by research insights. Who you’ll work with: You will be based in our Shenzhen office as core member of our China organization. You will work with our China CEO, Professor Mark Greeven, who leads the research initiatives and relevant faculties from IMD global. You will share your IMD journey with a diverse group (they come from over 40 countries!) of colleagues. Responsibilities and duties: •Lead the build-up of the China Initiative, a new research initiative to increase the knowledge and impact of IMD in understanding China, both for Chinese companies and the rest of the world, our global clients. This includes developing and implementing ranking studies of companies, newsletter and creating insight articles for our global and Chinese audiences. •Support Prof Greeven with his China based research, from design, development, implementation and production of articles. The research will focus on the topics of innovation and digital transformation, including both qualitative and quantitative studies. Candidate requirements and qualifications: •Significant experience in doing company research projects •Impeccable verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English •An absolute self-starter, creative problem solver with open mind, independent thinking •Great desk research skills and familiarity with using databases •Skills to understand companies’ competitiveness •Logic thinking •Systematic way of working •Good at coordinating with internal and external stakeholders •Academic and intellectual curiosity •Academic stamina for perfection and detail •Use of data analytics and data intelligence
