Position Summary

NYU Shanghai Athletics & Fitness aims to encourage and support every student to ensure equal access to

different sports or any kinds of physical activities. The objectives of NYU Shanghai Athletics & Fitness are to Build your Mind & Body, Promote Sportsmanship, and Create Violet Pride. Athletics & Fitness program requires employees to hold clear and positive understandings towards sports and its role in human being’s development. This position will assist the Athletics & Fitness Program Coordinators in different endeavor of sports/fitness -related activities and events to ensure smooth operation of the program.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

Assist in liaising with local and international schools and universities to coordinate sports games;

Assist in liaising with sports team coaches and captains;

Assist in coordinating internal and external sports games;

Assist with coordinating travel and space rental for sports practices and games;

Accompany sports teams on game days and provide on-site support;

Assist in photographing/filming games;

Track attendance for sports teams, and keep relevant people updated;

Take attendance for fitness classes, and update the record accordingly;

Other tasks as assigned.

Qualification

Required Education

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree required;

A Bachelor’s Degree in sports related fields preferred.

Required Experience

Experience with administrative or sports management preferred;

Experience studying and working in a multicultural environment is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese;

Ability to pay attention to detail;

Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team;

Can accept a flexible working schedule, sometimes at night or at weekend;

Great interest in sports;

Photographing skill will be a plus.

Working Time

At least 3 days a week for one semester, long-term internship preferred.
