The Role We seek a highly motivated hands-on mechanical design intern for a position in the Low Voltage Test Engineering group, a team focused on creating robust testing equipment for our vehicle’s low voltage components. This team concentrates on mechanical, electrical, and software test systems supporting our production lines around the world. Responsibilities: • Design CAD models of test equipment • Layout electrical/pneumatic schematics • Host, and attend design review meetings • Support build, debug, validate, and tune equipment • Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits • Interact with various design, manufacturing, sustaining, and firmware teams throughout project • Establish great working relationships with vendors • Continually design and implement improvements to released equipment The ideal candidate takes pride in his/her hands-on work, analytical ability, organizational skills and attention to detail. Requirements: • Major in Mechanical, have studied mechanical design courses, and have the basic knowledge of mechanical design • Have basic knowledge of machining, material, etc • Hands-on skills with simple parts assembly, using various assembly tools and measuring tools • Ability to use SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software • Ability to design parts according to use requirements • Able to arrange design schedule properly
