1. Main Objectives of this position: - Facilitates the movement of import cargo and keeps customers satisfied with any and all details of shipments. - Provides immediate response to customer inquiries; provides timely information to Customs and the terminals and provides paper work and electronic data to various locations.
2. Function and duties: Tasks - Coordinate closely with ship agents and customers - Check the shipments completeness and correctness - Checks SDC completion before vessel arrival and have notification sending if SDC not completed - Assign rate of exchange and checks the rates correctness (e.g.: Check the THD charge in USD) - Create FIS invoice and send arrival notice to consignee/notify party(for CNSHA/CNTAO/CNNGB) - Check special shipments and provides the relevant documents/forms/files to concerned parties (including dangerous goods, OOG goods, break bulk cargos, waste goods, etc) - Submit EDI manifest data to relevant ship agent - Provide Import shipment summary to the relevant ship agent ECB/SWB, Telex release, THD collect, Sea freight collect, Empty container, Short shipped cargo, DG cargo, OOG cargo, waste cargo … Checks if any invoices are missing - Prepare Customs Manifests and DG Manifests where applicable - Provide full customer service on all inbound questions including arrival information, charges due, cargo information, d/o release consultation, etc - Coordinate closely with overseas colleagues for various import issues - Seal number amendment: Provide seal certificate to assist consignee clear the imports - Prepare amendment application with ship agent and apply for Customs amendment after vessel arrival - CCAM monitoring after CCAM implement - Check outstanding revenues - Monitor long-stay containers and handling abandon cargoes - Detention/ Demurrage calculation and coordinates with ship agent for charges settlement - Applied for detention waive/discount - Manifests correction requested by overseas after vessel arrival Check with ship agent if d/o is released Contact consignee if correction is needed Prepare the manifest amendment application and relevant documents - Keeps proper archives and maintains files of data as required by ISO9002 where applicable
3. Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements: - College degree - At least 2 year relevant experience in ocean shipping industry - Ability to work independently - Positive and pleasant attitude, a team-player - Willing to work under high pressure - Understands what Hapag-Lloyd offers customers and what routes, equipment, rates and services are available. - Uses maps, atlases and other geographic reference materials. Knows where nearest ports and terminals are to customers or can use references to find that information. Knows best mode of transportation for ground transport between customer and terminal. - Uses word processing software efficiently and effectively. Uses spreadsheet software as a tool for tracking work. Uses other software appropriate to work demands and effectively applies other components of MSOffice required by the job. - Understands specific customer’s goods, shipment requirements and practices. Has an understanding of special rates which might be assigned and knows when to check with sales for possible special rate assignment.
